Renown Health, a leading medical center in Reno, Nevada, sought to add a soothing, large-scale sculpture to each end of the lobby in its new Tahoe Tower. Artists Richard Altman of Fusion Studios and Lyle London of Art in Metal, sharing their expertise in glass and metal sculpture, designed the two Helix sculptures, combining intricately bent stainless steel frames with individually-cut panels of DichroART Dichroic Glass to create a pair of large hanging sculptures that capture the light and create a sense of peace and positive energy for those who view it. WorldGlass’ DichroART was chosen because it allowed the artists to incorporate the ever-changing, colorful properties of Dichroic glass into their art in very large pieces, something no other glass company could offer. The result of the artists’ hard work is a pair of impressive sculptures that provide serenity and beauty to the patients and families at Renown Health.
